Job Description

We are looking for a Junior Project Manager to join our team at RS. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about project management and eager to grow within the creative industry. The ideal candidate will be bilingual in Japanese and English, based in Japan, and excited to take on responsibilities that span the lifecycle of creative projects. You will be involved in overseeing project timelines, coordinating resources, and ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality.

This is a full-time hybrid position based in Tokyo, with flexibility for remote work.

Responsibilities

  • Project Management Support: Assist in managing the end-to-end lifecycle of creative projects. Work closely with senior project managers and creative teams to ensure timely delivery.
  • Scheduling and Task Coordination: Help plan project timelines, define milestones, and ensure all deadlines are met. Assist in managing daily tasks and ensure smooth workflow.
  • Budgeting and Financial Oversight: Support the tracking of project expenses, ensuring that resources are used effectively and the project remains within budget.
  • Communication and Stakeholder Management: Act as a liaison between project teams, clients, and stakeholders. Ensure clear and consistent communication throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Problem-Solving and Adaptability: Tackle issues and obstacles that arise during project execution, offering proactive solutions while maintaining project momentum.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Assist with the preparation of progress reports, ensuring project status is documented and communicated effectively to internal teams and clients.
  • Collaboration: Work alongside cross-functional teams, including designers, developers, and client-facing teams, to ensure all aspects of the project are aligned with the project’s goals and client expectations.

Qualifications

  • Bilingual in Japanese and English: Must be able to communicate fluently in both languages, with the ability to manage documentation and correspondence in both.
  • Passion for the Creative Industry: A genuine interest in design, branding, and digital media, with the willingness to learn and adapt to new creative processes.
  • Project Management Skills: Basic knowledge of project management principles, ideally with some exposure to creative or digital projects.
  • Strong Organizational and Communication Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks, communicate clearly, and maintain strong attention to detail.
  • Problem-Solving and Adaptability: Comfortable in dynamic environments and ready to face challenges with a solution-oriented mindset.
  • Bachelor's Degree: A degree in Project Management, Business Administration, Design, or a related field is preferred but not required.
  • Experience with Project Management Tools: Familiarity with tools like Notion is a plus.
